Experienced violin teacher

Hello Students and Parents, I have been teaching violin for many years and through this time have assisted hundreds of students as they work towards AMEB exams, scholarships and competitions. I am a qualified primary and secondary school teacher, so I relate well to students of all ages and levels. I have developed my own method for teaching which focuses on thorough technique. Through this method, I have helped many students experience outstanding results. My students generally stay with me for many years and most of them continue learning the violin until they reach and pass the highest AMEB levels. I have many violins, so if you are just starting, don't buy one straight away as I may have one that you can borrow, most likely free of charge. Alan Chan Violin Lessons at your Home

Alan Chan has been teaching piano and violin for 20 years and holds AMEB Teacher Number 94889, registered in May 2003. He runs a YouTube education channel featuring recordings of AMEB, ABRSM and Trinity exam pieces, including performances of all grades in the 2026 Piano Series 19, and the channel has passed 110,000,000 views and 110,000 subscribers, earning a YouTube Silver Play Button award in 2022. He also teaches up to Grade 6 AMEB Theory and Musicianship, meeting requirements up to LMusA. Lessons run for a minimum of one hour and are held at the student's home near Epping.

Violin Lessons

Alexander White holds a Master of Arts (Music Performance), an Honours Degree in Advanced Musical Performance Studies and a Bachelor of Music Performance, and has taught for 20 years, including ten as Head of Strings at Mount Waverley Secondary College. He has also taught at schools such as Melbourne Grammar, MacRobertson Girls' School and Tintern Grammar, and tutored for the Melbourne Youth Music Program, the Victorian State School Spectacular and the Monash University Academy Orchestra. As a performer he has appeared with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic and alongside artists including Andrea Bocelli, Tina Arena and Sigur Ros, performing across Australia, Europe, Asia and South America, and he received the Monash University Chamber Music Prize along with a scholarship to study and perform in South America. His violin and viola lessons focus on technical foundation and musicianship with music reading taught from the outset, and he prepares students for AMEB exams, VCE Units 1 to 4, IB assessments, eisteddfods, scholarships and university auditions from his Richmond home studio or online.

Group Singing Lessons

Annette holds an A.Mus.A., A.T.C.L., Performance Certificate and a B.Mus., and has 36 years of performing experience alongside 28 years of teaching. At her Ferny Hills studio she covers strings, piano and voice, and prepares students for A.M.E.B. examinations. Lessons can follow either an exam pathway or a recreational one, depending on what the student is after.

Violin Lessons

Molly holds a Bachelor of Music majoring in Classical Violin, Advanced Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and a Graduate Diploma in Music Performance from the University of Queensland, and is currently studying viola at the Australian National Academy of Music. She freelances with Camerata, Queensland's Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Opera Australia Orchestra. She has taught privately and in schools in both Brisbane and Melbourne. Her violin and viola lessons are engaging and positive, with a focus on the essential basics.

Viola da Gamba Lessons

Dr Shaun Ng studied viola da gamba with Jose Vazquez and has recorded extensively, including a double CD of Telemann's 12 fantasias and 2 lessons for solo viola da gamba on a 1739 Jean Nicolas Lambert instrument, a solo disc of music by Mr. de Machy on a copy of the 1683 Michel Collichon viol, a debut theorbo CD of Robert de Visee, and a recording of Marin Marais from Pieces a une et a deux violes (1686). He has also recorded with lutenist Lucas Harris and collaborated with keyboardist Diana Weston on a CD for viola da gamba, square piano and harpsichord. His violin lessons are structured and goal focused, building a technical foundation alongside musical understanding. Lessons are offered in person and online with professional video and audio, and he begins with a free 15 minute online consultation.

Any Age or Ability - Piano Lessons

Isobel Archer is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium piano program and has studied and performed in Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France. She teaches from a private studio with a grand piano in Centennial Park and prepares students for AMEB grades. Lessons are shaped around each student's own musical goals, covering theory, aural skills and technical work, and she also supports those who simply want to play for enjoyment.

Bass Guitar Lessons

The Learning Lounge in Turramurra has 14 teachers working with around 250 students a week across voice, piano, guitar, saxophone, violin, clarinet, trumpet, bass and flute. Lessons are one on one in dedicated rooms, with some teachers offering AMEB and Rock School exams. Students can be prepared for graded exams on request, or supported in learning for fun or for playing in a band.

Violin Lessons

Cassandra Hansen and Daniel Grindrod trained at the Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium, where their work has included roles as Music Director and Piano Accompanist. They play classical, jazz and musical theatre repertoire, and their students have auditioned successfully for the Bachelor of Music at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and achieved Honours (A) and High Distinctions (A+) in music examinations. Lessons in cello, violin, viola and piano are tailored to each student and run either in the Cornubia studio or online via Skype, with performance opportunities offered each semester.

Clarinet Tutoring | Teacher travels to your home for lessons

Gliss Music School teaches violin, cello, clarinet and piano from its base in Epping, and prepares students for AMEB exams. Tutors travel to the student's home for lessons, and a trial lesson is offered so families can check the match with a teacher before continuing.
