Guitar lessons

Natalie Cermak is a Conservatorium trained singing and guitar teacher based in Highgate Hill, with 25 years of teaching behind her. Her lessons begin with technical vocal work including diaphragm and breathing control, ear training, scales and diction exercises, and address habits such as throat strain and nasality before moving into creative work. She provides written modules and practice discs, sets weekly home practice, and adapts to different learning styles. Students are entered in talent contests, end of year performances and shows around Brisbane, with paid gigs booked for advanced students and vocals recorded to CD using Pro-Tools.

Zoey Chan holds an Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music teaching qualification, gained in 2009, and has been teaching for eight years in studios, homes and schools. Her Coorparoo studio, Brisbane Piano Studio, teaches 55 to 60 students each week, prepares students for AMEB exams and holds student concerts twice a year. Lessons take place either in the studio on a Kawai grand piano or in students' homes. She works on playing, listening and reading skills, encourages cheerful practice habits and follows each student's own musical tastes.

Singing Lessons

Henry Kafoa holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre and a Master of Music Studies in Vocal Pedagogy from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, where he also undertook PhD research focussed on musical theatre vocal health. His performance credits include Black Box, The Sunshine Club with Queensland Theatre, Once on This Island with Altitude Theatre, The Happy Prince at Metro Arts, Head Over Heels and Tick, Tick... Boom! with That Production Company, Yank! with Understudy Productions, and Miss Saigon at QCGU. He has taught professional music theatre performers and recording artists as well as open mic enthusiasts and hobby singers. His South Brisbane voice lessons are built on technique-based vocal training in a safe, supportive environment, with attention to each singer's authentic individual voice.

Guitar Lessons

Jordan Brodie holds a BMus and graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in jazz guitar. He has recorded two fingerstyle guitar albums, toured Australia and New Zealand, and performed in Canada, Ireland and Germany, and is a Queensland Music Award winning guitarist and composer. He has taught guitar at his home studio and in a school, and also runs group ukulele and guitar classes for those with no prior experience. Lessons are available in Paddington or via Skype.

Saxophone Lessons

Carl Bundesen holds an AMEB LMusA, a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Piano and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), along with AMEB Grade 8 Saxophone and Grade 6 Theory. He studied under Dr Anna Grinberg and has been teaching for 10 years. Lessons run from his Ashgrove home studio, which has two Yamaha acoustic pianos. His teaching focuses on technique and musicality, and covers both performance and music theory.

Zhong Ruan（Chinese Guitar）

Sally teaches guitar, mandolin and piano in Brisbane, and her students have passed early-grade AMEB examinations. Her lessons focus on building interest and understanding of music in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. She works patiently with children.
