Daniel Medina - B App. Mus. ; Grad. Dip. Education (Deakin)Guitar, Bass Guitar and PianoDaniel started his musical journey at the age of 6 with the Keyboard, instrument that he played for 6 years composing original works and giving several remarkable performances with a wide variety of styles. At the age of 15, Daniel made his first serious attempt for playing the guitar. He quickly changed his mind and decided to get an electric bass guitar, which gave him the chance to fit in the local rock and metal bands, music that Daniel has proved to be a loyal fan on from the age of 9.He played the bass for another 6 years, studying theory and exploring composition meanwhile. Around this time, he formed an acoustic band in Mexico city featuring himself on one of the guitars, leading to, eventually, drop the bass and focus full time on classical guitar technique. The band split after one recording that Daniel produced and composed giving several performances at local venues and for TV channels before he went back to the studio to record some solo guitar tracks and do some more shows as a solo artist before he left for Australia in 2004, where he studied classical guitar with Mario Lattuada for 3 yearsDaniel’s teaching philosophy has always been “Don’t learn music, enjoy music”. And his students get always a lesson in a friendly and fun environment with the knowledge and experience of a professional music educator.Daniel also shares his joy and love for music in the early childhood years having working as a music specialist in childcare centres and private music schools in Victoria prior to coming to the Gold Coast. Apart from his experience in teaching and performance, Daniel is aware of the latest music and performing arts education techniques and philosophies due to his postgraduate course in Education awarded by Deakin university, Australia |
